I have *how* long to make up my mind??

Our D&D group is taking a break from our regular campaign for a oneshot set in Tal'dorei (in before the oneshot takes up more sessions than expected; we've been playing our main campaign for two years and don't really do anything quickly) and we're doing it... this evening? In less than nine hours? And my character is still not done? Question mark?

He/she/they/pick a pronoun is mostly done but I still don't even have a voice for them and only half a characterisation and I'm pretty sure I'm overthinking this but I always do, and given that I somehow ended up with a Kenku warlock with two(??) bird familiars last time that happened, I'm taking that as a good sign. Today, I'll be trying my hand at playing a bard for the first time (more a storyteller than a musician, although he plays the flute) and I have no idea how that will go either.

Let's see, what do I still need to figure out before we start our virtual dicerolling?

• we're playing level 5 characters for this oneshot so - bard college! Glamour is calling to me but I'm already playing a cleric worshipping an archfey in our main campaign; do I really need more fey in my life? Valour is neat too though for the even fancier Inspiration
• magical sunglasses to cancel out the drow sunlight weakness, yes or no? Our oneshot DM has offered them to me and not having disadvantage on stuff in bright sunlight is obviously neat but on the other hand, I picked a drow knowing they've got that weakness? And I'm kind of all for leaning into that. And running around with a really big hat and grumbling about rude enemies standing in the light also sounds like fun...
• I still have one tool/instrument/language proficiency open and can't think of one, hmmm.....

For once, I'm not even the most secretive person in the party. One of the other players isn't even saying what class she's picked yet. But honestly, with this group, we're going to have a blast no matter how things go, and I'm looking forward to what ridiculousness we're going to get ourselves into. Will report back!
